Goals & Objectives

The agency's primary goals and objectives are to deliver a child and family service program that is community based, community designed and community oriented. The agency will work toward the goal of strengthening the family, protecting children and preserving the Ojibway culture.

As of September 1, 2007, Sandy Bay Child & Family Services has the legal mandate to provide child and family services, as outlined in the Child and Family Services Act, to all individuals residing in the community of Sandy Bay First Nation. The mandate also allows Sandy Bay Child & Family Services to advocate on this same basis for families and children of Sandy Bay First Nation members residing off reserve. As of July 1, 2009, the agency has been granted the mandated to provide child and family services to the community members of Dakota Plains Wahpeton Nation.

The agency is mandated and under the authority of the First Nations of Southern Manitoba CFS Authority.
